Louis Zamperini grew up in California as a trouble maker. Then his brother introduced him to running and track. It turned out that Louis was an amazingly talented runner, even Olympic level talented. But then World War II started. Louis signed up for the Air Force to fight in WWII. He trained and fought with the Air Force, forged new friendships, and experienced many things. During one search mission, his plane crashed and he was stranded at sea. He remained stranded for what seemed to him like forever. Then, Louis sees what seems to be a rescue plane. But, his ārescueā could be the worst thing possible.
I really like the storytelling of the book with the constant action and description and all of the heavy details in the story. However, I did not enjoy the very slow start of this book. Despite that, I think that this book is worth the read. Those who like war stories would enjoy this book. I definitely recommend Unbroken. I would give it 4.25 stars out of 5.
