A Weiss Family Jazz Series Show
The Weiss Family Jazz Series was established with a bequest to the Westfield Memorial Library Foundation in memory of longtime library patrons, Joseph and Dorothy Weiss.

Join us on Saturday, August 12 at 8:00pm for an outdoor performance by the Adrian Cunningham Trio on Quimby Street in downtown Westfield.
Adrian Cunningham is an award-winning multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and world traveler. Originally from Sydney, Australia and now based in New York, he is proving to be one of his country’s top exports. With fluent command of the saxophones, clarinet, and flute, he is one of the finest multi-instrumentalists in Jazz today. He has performed at some of the Big Apple’s finest clubs: Blue Note, Smalls, Birdland, Apollo Theatre, Dizzy’s Club (Lincoln Center) and a private event at the hallowed Village Vanguard, with such luminaries as Wynton Marsalis, Wycliffe Gordon and Jon Batiste. He drew a record crowd here at the library in 2019!
Adrian will be accompanied by John Merrill on guitar and James Robertson on bass. John is a New York based guitarist with a career spanning three decades, five continents and hundreds of live appearances. As both a solo guitarist and as an ensemble member, he’s performed at major jazz clubs, international festivals, fine hotels, cruise ships and other music venues in New York and around the globe. He is also proud to have participated for several years in Lincoln Center’s Jazz for Young People program as a member of drummer LaFrae Sci’s quartet. With this opportunity to play concerts at schools all over New York City, John has been able to share his love and knowledge of music with students of all ages.
Jim’s professional music career began with a tour to Montreux Jazz Festival at the age of 14. His versatility as a multi instrumentalist has given him opportunities to perform, and record on 5 different continents; with superstars such as Jay-Z, Pete Townshend, The Roots, Josh Groban, Kygo, Billy Idol, Erykah Badu, Evanescence, Jon Hendricks, Ben E King, Sarah Brightman, and many more. A long career of touring, composing, arranging, teaching, and film scoring have given Jim experiences that could span 10 lifetimes. As Jim looks forward to working with artists old and new, the joy of being able to experience one more day of music remains as exhilarating as the first day holding an instrument.
Presented with support from the Weiss Family and the Westfield Memorial Library Foundation, and in partnership with the Downtown Westfield Corporation.
The performance will be outdoors on Quimby Street in downtown Westfield. If it rains, the show will be held in the Meeting Room of the Library.
