In a not so distant future, humans travel to the planet Mars. However, Mark Watney, a mechanic and botanist, gets stuck on Mars with no one close enough to save him. Members of NASA on Earth and in space try tirelessly to make sure heās safe. Markās skills in botany and mechanics can get him through tough times, and help him survive. However, the real question is, how is Watney going to return home?
In this thrilling tale, I really enjoy how the author depicts the negatives that can come with space travel. The book was very engaging and emotional. Although I dislike how it focuses only on a few characters and tells little about Mission Control, I would recommend this book to young adults who are interested in space and fiction.
