Book Review: The Guest List by Lucy Foley

The perfect couple couldn’t exist, except for Jules and Will. The handsome and charming television star groom and the smart and ambitious magazine publisher bride are getting married, and everything about them looks flawless. The ideal “It Couple” makes an unusual choice of location for the wedding, an island off the coast of Ireland, as suggested by the wedding planner. With the bad phone service and the rough waves, things don’t go as smoothly as planned, and the guest list has dark and deep secrets that could and will cause trouble during the event. 

As the wedding goes on, a body is found, and with the lights off, everyone begins to get frightened and scared knowing that the murderer is still on the island. With there being a rumor that Jules and her male best friend, Charlie had a thing for each other, Charlie’s wife, Hannah, starts to get suspicious. The best man, Johnno, makes everyone uncomfortable, and the bride’s younger sister, Olivia, is acting stranger than usual, leading Jules to fear that she might cause problems. The night becomes tragically unforgettable.

I strongly recommend this book to anyone who loves suspense and is interested in discovering how dark secrets and deep lies can keep someone reading a book all night. Lucy Foley ensures that everything will be told and revealed that night, and justice will be done. This mystery is worth reading, and I would rate it as a 9 out of 10. Reviewed by Sophia D
