We are happy to announce that the library has created a new series of programming in partnership with the Town of Westfield Human Relations Advisory Commission (HRAC) called Sharing Our Stories.
The mission of HRAC is to provide an egalitarian, welcoming, inclusive, safe, and productive community for the residents, local businesses, and visitors of the Town of Westfield, New Jersey.

Our first event will be Darshana: A Glimpse Into the Hindu Civilization on Saturday, November 5. The event will start at 10:00am with a storytime and coloring activities for children, followed by opening remarks by Mayor Shelley Brindle at 10:30.
You can expect to learn about Hindu culture, including traditions, festivals, symbols, and values. In addition, there will be presentations on yoga, life purpose, divinity, sacred texts, Sewa (service), and Ayurveda (herbal medicine).
3.2 million Hindus call America their home, and we are fortunate to have many Hindu neighbors in and around Westfield.
Please register for this free event and join us on Saturday to learn a little bit more about the world’s oldest living civilization.
