Droughts have been raging throughout all of California. Alyssa and her family were told not to water their lawns, take long showers, fill their pools and more. However, the situation turns much more dire when other Western states back out of their pactā¦water from the Colorado River will no longer reach California. The result – no tap water at all, a Tap-Out. When Alyssa and her brother, Garrett, are stranded, she has to make hard choices and make unexpected friends to stay alive.
I really loved how this book was written from multiple charactersā perspectives, showing all their feelings. Despite that, I did not like the exaggeration of negative stereotypes relating to certain groups, such as the unhoused population. I would recommend this book to people who like intense dystopian books. This book deserves 5 out of 5 stars. Reviewed by Jordan S
