Books and eBooks
The library maintains a print collection of more 150,000 books, and more than 10,000 eBooks. Not only do you have access to Westfield’s onsite print collection, but you can also borrow more than 3 million books from Cranford, Scotch Plains, and nearly 40 participating LMxAC libraries – all with your Westfield library card. Just place a hold and have books sent from participating libraries to Westfield for you to pick-up. And if you need something fast, eBooks can be borrowed on-demand through Libby, hoopla, and the library’s other platforms.
Research Databases
The library subscribes to more than 15 premium research platforms covering a wide variety of academic disciplines, including history, geography, literature, and science. Some of our most popular databases by grade level are:
Grades K-5

Grades 6-8
Funk & Wagnall’s New World Encyclopedia, World Geography and Culture, and American History Online

Grades 9-12
Academic Search Premier, Points of View Reference Center, Modern World History, and Bloom’s Literary Reference Center

Online Tutoring
Brainfuse is one of the nation’s leading online tutoring providers, serving students of all ages. With Brainfuse, users receive real-time online tutoring and career assistance from expert instructors. Tutors are available every day from 2:00pm to 11:00pm. This premium service is available for free to all Westfield residents.

Study Space
The library offers a variety of spaces for students who are studying, working on group projects, and meeting with tutors. The library has approximately 25 group tables, and 18 study carrels. Tables on the first floor are more “conversation-friendly” while the second floor provides better quiet space. The study carrels come complete with electrical outlets and a private light.
Wireless Internet (WiFi)
The library’s public WiFi was recently upgraded from 100-200Mb to 1Gb speed, representing a nearly 10x increase. With the addition of an outdoor router, the library now provides WiFi access throughout the 31,500 square foot building plus the outdoor patio. In 2023, the library is projecting more than 40,000 individual WiFi sessions.
Get Access
All of this (and more) is available to Westfield students with a Westfield Memorial Library card. No card? No problem. You can register online and have a new library card mailed directly to your home.
