Come visit the Westfield Library to experience the lyrical, energetic, colorful, and spooky art of Berkeley Heights artist Jim Fuess

Jim works with liquid acrylic paint on canvas.  Most of his work is abstract, but there are recognizable forms and faces in a number of the paintings.

Witness the turmoil of Revolutionary Iran through the eyes of a young girl. 

Growing up in an upper-middle class, yet communist, family in 1970s Iran, young Marjane Satrapi opposed the Shah.  Initially the Satrapis greeted the Revolution, until something much worse emerged, war with Iraq arrived, and young Marjane found herself on a plane bound for a boarding school in Vienna.

International Film Festival: This is England

It's 1983 and school is out.  Twelve-year old Shaun is a lonely boy growing up without his father in a grim coastal down.  In the midst of summer boredom, Shaun befriends a group of local skinheads.  With his pent-up rage and frustration, Shaun finds exactly what he wants in the gang: mischief, mayhem, and brotherhood.  He also meets the volatile and boorish Combo, an older skinhead who sees himself in Shaun. Adopting Shaun as his protege, Combo leads the gang down a hate spewing path that culminates in an ierreversible act of violence.
